The New York Giants have as many holes as any team picking in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, which starts tonight at 8 p.m. ET (NFL Network, ESPN, ABC) from Lambeau Field in Green Bay. But who will the Giants draft to fill those holes?

For months, it looked like it could be a quarterback or Heisman winner, Travis Hunter, but now it's clear based on how short the NFL draft odds are for a certain All-American pass rusher to be the No. 3 overall pick in the draft.

๐Ÿค– AI prediction: Who will the Giants draft?

For entertainment purposes, we asked ChatGPT to analyze this year's NFL draft class and team needs before predicting which player the New York Giants will select. Our AI prediction projects that the Giants will draft Abdul Carter.

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Prediction: Giants will draft Abdul Carter

๐Ÿˆ Elite prospect: Carter is ranked a top-two player on most analysts' boards - including Daniel Jeremiah and Dane Bruglerโ€™s rankings - meaning heโ€™s considered one of the true blue-chip talents in the class.

๐Ÿˆ Impact pass rusher: While quarterback is a long-term question, the Giants signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, removing urgency, and with Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux on the roster, adding Carter creates a devastating three-headed pass rush.

๐Ÿˆ You draft traits high: At No. 3 overall, you donโ€™t reach for a need - you draft someone who can dominate games - and Carterโ€™s rare explosiveness, ability to bend, and backfield disruption potential give him All-Pro upside and instant star power at a premier position.

๐Ÿค” Betting takeaway: ChatGPT's AI prediction would mean the Giants drafting Abdul Carter No. 3 overall (-590). ChatGPT is a large language model and not specifically designed for predicting sporting events, so these projections should be viewed as entertainment or a supplementary data point for your NFL draft betting research.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Favorite to be drafted by the Giants

๐Ÿฆ Abdul Carter (-590)

Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi has all but outright said the team will be taking Miami QB Cam Ward No. 1 overall, and the odds for who will draft Travis Hunter make it pretty clear the Cleveland Browns will be selecting the two-way star second overall. That leaves Penn State's Abdul Carter as the obvious choice for the Giants at No. 3.

Although edge rusher isn't the team's biggest need with Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux on the roster, Carter is one of the few blue-chip prospects in a draft that's considered one of the weakest in recent memory. Plus, head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen have an example right in their own division of the value of stacking pass rushers after the Philadelphia Eagles just won a Super Bowl.

Carter is more than worthy of this pick, too, as he's considered a consensus top-two talent in the class alongside Hunter. In his first season as a full-time edge player for the Nittany Lions - he had previously played an off-ball role like Micah Parsons did for James Franklin - Carter earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors while finishing second in the country in pressures (66) and 13th in pass-rush win rate (22.7%), per PFF.

Even with recent noise that the Giants have been fielding calls from teams looking to trade up to the No. 3 pick, this market at our best sports betting sites is focused on who will be selected in this slot. So, whether it's the Giants picking or a team looking to move up, I wouldn't bet on any player going third overall other than Carter, even with a $10 winning bet paying just a $1.69 profit.

๐ŸŽฏ Best long shot bet to be drafted by the Giants

๐Ÿ˜ Jalen Milroe (+380)

Even with the Giants likely locked into drafting Carter with the No. 3 overall pick, that doesn't mean they won't come out of the first two rounds of the NFL draft without a quarterback to develop behind Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. The Giants hold the No. 34 pick in the draft and could just as easily jump back into the first round - and secure the fifth-year option on a QB they select - or stick and pick a passer that falls to them.

While the team has reportedly done more work on Shedeur Sanders than any other QB in the class, I'm not sure that's a positive ... it sounds more like the front office and coaching staff may be split on how they feel about the Colorado QB. On top of that factor, they may not even have the opportunity to draft him with the way the Pittsburgh Steelers have surged up the odds for who will draft Shedeur Sanders.

There's also buzz that the Giants are fans of Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart, but he's another player who's been a popular pick in the first round of mock drafts from NFL analysts. So instead, I'm looking at Alabama's Jalen Milroe, whom I think would be in the perfect spot if he were to land with the Giants. Daboll would love his freakish athleticism - Milroe was sixth in the country in 15-plus-yard runs among QBs last season (12).

Daboll has a history of success with uber explosive QBs like Jalen Hurts at Alabama and Josh Allen with the Buffalo Bills, and Milroe is a perfect developmental prospect behind Wilson and Winston. The team likely wouldn't need to move up from the 34th pick to select him, either, which makes the $38 profit on a $10 winning bet even more enticing.
